Beyond the channel, on Tran Hung Dao, a stone’s throw from the dock (on Nguyen Hue Street), note the high building crowned by a spire, whose architecture evokes that of a church. This is, in fact, the covered market, where stallholders wearing the traditional conical hat sell a colourful array of goods such as live chickens, fish, spices etc.
